Iván Cepeda is one of the leading human rights defenders in Colombia and is a founder and spokesperson for the National Movement of Victims of State Crimes – the broad based coalition of civil society organizations pursuing the struggle for truth, justice and reparations. Mr. Cepeda is a member of the historical truth project “Colombia Nunca Más” (Colombia: Never Again), which has documented over 40,000 cases of crimes against humanity that took place in Colombia between 1966 and 1998. He is a regular columnist in the Colombian newspaper El Espectador.
